Philip Matthews

Office Manager

Philip Matthews is responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of our office. He controls the digital workflow as well as looking after the co-ordination of photographic assignments and photographers diaries. He liaises with our clients to ensure all assignments are carried out and delivered in a professional and successful manner. Philip has worked in the photographic industry since leaving education 16 years ago.



Kelvin Boyes

Photographer / Managing Director

Kelvin Boyes, Managing Director of Press Eye, has been working as a full-time professional photographer since 1989.

Beginning his career as a trainee photographer with The Dromore Leader in County Down, he then moved to a local picture agency for 4 years before starting his own Press and PR photography business in 1995.

Kelvin works on a daily basis with PR companies, local and national newspapers, as well as many local companies, banks and government departments.

He was awarded the Northern Ireland Press Photographer of the Year in 1999.



William Cherry

Photographer

William has been a full time professional photographer for nearly 20 years, and in 2006 was named Northern Ireland Press Photographer of the Year.

He began his career as a trainee photographer with the Ulster Star and soon progressed to the position of Senior Photographer.

He then spent eleven years as a staff photographer with Pacemaker Press International, before leaving to join the Press Eye team at the end of 2004.

In addition to winning numerous awards for his individual studies, picture essays, sport & news photography in the North and South of Ireland, William has also won Sports Photograph of the Year at the NAPA Awards in London.



Darren Kidd

Photographer

Darren Kidd joined the Press Eye team in May 2006 after sixteen years as Picture Editor and Senior Photographer of the Sunday Life. He also worked for the Dromore Leader and Lisburn Star weekly newspapers between 1985 to 1990 as their staff photographer.

He is regarded as one of the most experienced and dedicated press photographers in Northern Ireland winning countless awards over the years for his eye catching images.

He will continue his career with Press Eye working for newspaper, corporate and PR clients throughout Northern Ireland.



Matt Mackey

Photographer

Matt joined Press Eye in April 2007 after working with the Sunday Life newspaper. While working there as a staff photographer and picture desk assistant, he covered a wide range of assignments throughout Northern Ireland including news, sport and features.

He is currently working with Press Eye clients, producing images for use in a wide range of publications including the Belfast Telegraph, Sunday Times and The Sun.



Paul McCambridge

Photographer

Paul McCambridge has been working for Press Eye since 2000, covering assignments for newspapers and magazines as well as a wide range of PR companies and local government departments.

Paul has had a number of his project images displayed as part of exhibitions in The Photographers Gallery, London. Tate Modern, London and the Lowry Gallery in Salford, Manchester.

He was awarded the 1999 & 2002 Northern Ireland Feature Photographer of the Year award. Paul also taught photography for 3 years at Upper Bann Institute.



Brian Thompson

Photographer

Before amalgamating his business with Press Eye, Brian has been running a successful PR photography business since 1993. Based on the Dublin Road in Belfast, he has been servicing a wide range of clients from his city centre base.

Brian works regularly for local PR companies, government departments, banks as well as many well-known local businesses and organisations. In the past he has worked in a freelance capacity for the Belfast Telegraph, Sunday Life and Irish Independent but now specializes in PR and corporate photography within Northern Ireland.

He has also received a number of runner-up and merit awards in the annual NIPPA photography competition.
